A Report from SEM 2025
Once again, the Society for Experimental Mechanics delivered a fantastic Annual Conference. This year, in the friendly environs of Milwaukee, WI, conference organizers were able to successfully wrangle an increasingly diverse set of technologies and research interests broadly captured under the banner “Experimental Mechanics” so that knowledge was delivered, connections made, and fun was had by all. Many thanks to everyone at SEM who helped organize and all those who came by our booth to explore the latest in digital image correlation with VIC-3D!
“The SEM Annual Conference includes topics in digital image and digital volume correlation techniques, speed impacts to shock and blast, durability and extreme environmental effects, model/experiment integration, materials for advanced manufacturing, damage detection and non destructive testing, tools spanning various length scales and new experimental techniques and methods to address real-life applications, research and collaborative efforts across all disciplines complementing experimental mechanics.”
2025 Michael Sutton International Student Paper Competition
