Visualizing Digital Image Correlation

During our latest video production featuring an updated calibration procedure for VIC-3D and thermal imaging (IR) cameras, the Correlated Solutions team had a discussion about whether to include a detailed explanation of how the post-analysis visualization was achieved within VIC-3D using the iris graphics workspace. Because we have covered most of the features in previous iris tutorials, we opted to gloss over the majority of the production within the iris workspace to avoid redundancy. However, our team agreed that some - especially advanced users - might be interested to see the process, and might not require the same level of tutorial specificity. Thus, the idea for a different kind of tutorial video series emerged which provides our customers the opportunity to watch the production of an iris project at their own pace with minimal instruction.

Moving forward, we plan to pair most promotional and educational video releases with corresponding minimalist tutorials in a new series called Visualizing Digital Image Correlation.
