Introducing VIC-3D QX High-Speed + High-Resolution

We are proud to announce the addition of a new high-resolution, high-speed camera system to the Correlated family of industry-leading digital image correlation solutions. This system is ideal for DIC applications that require both high-resolution measurements and fast image acquisition rates. The system is capable of capturing 335 images per second at the full 12-megapixel resolution for up to 2 seconds. Example applications include (but are not limited to): wind turbine blade displacement tracking, sporting equipment analysis – e.g. golf clubs, tennis rackets, baseball bats, hockey sticks, etc., low-frequency vibration ODS analysis, intermediate dynamic testing, and much more.

Features include:

  • Impressive speed of 335 FPS at 12.3 MP resolution for short image sequences

  • 8 GB of internal image storage for maximum frame rates

  • 10 GigE interface allows ultra-fast image downloading creating easy and cost-effective integration

  • Completely integrated software for image acquisition

As with every new piece of equipment, the team at Correlated performed extensive testing of this impressive new camera. Utilizing high quality, machine-vision sensors are of the utmost importance to obtaining dependable, reliable, repeatable DIC data. This is why all cameras added to the CSI camera lineup are rigorously tested for strain noise and displacement noise measurements as a part of their integration into the hardware suite of VIC products. Below see the test setup and the results from one tensile test our mechanical engineers ran during the testing phase of the cameras’ integration.
