3D DIC - A New Tutorial Series

After several months of careful planning and production, we are delighted to present these five tutorial videos which cover the basics of using the VIC-3D digital image correlation system from Correlated Solutions. Follow the sequence of videos from Calibration to Test Image Capture in VIC-Snap, Pre-Analysis in VIC-3D, Basic Analysis, and Data Visualization with the iris graphic engine as we conduct a simple tensile test of a plastic dog bone in an MTS Exceed Universal Test Frame.

Of course, every test is different and much depends on the unique parameters of specific test conditions. Note: this calibration was performed without using linear polarizers on the lenses and the light source, which can help reduce reflections making the calibration that much easier.

The Basic Calibration video is embedded below to get you started. Then, explore the whole playlist on YouTube and find all our tutorial videos in the Resources section.
